WORK

Eric De Vree’s work translates into two expressions: still life and impressions.
Years of intense study and a strong interaction between these art forms has resulted in an enhancement and strengthening of both.
Together, they bring Eric’s visual language to life.

Still life

Craftsmanship and material representation. These two pillars form the base for Eric De Vree’s still life paintings. A great respect for the old masters of painting and an eye for the beauty of everyday objects are reflected in Eric’s contemporary way of working.

IMPRESSIONS

Eric De Vree's impressions are the product of his constant search for light and colour. This led him to rediscover Impressionist painting in which he captures the atmosphere and notions of his environment in a highly professional way.

THIS MONTH’S featured paintingS: ‘DRIED hydrangea’

For years they have adorned my studio; the dried, discoloured hydrangea blossoms.
They occupy a quiet place among other objects and regularly distinguish themselves.
Their structure and shape are very inspiring.
Their gloomy character obliges me to remain alert in the colour construction.
Apart from the technical features, your own perspective plays a significant role.
Thanks to focused observation, the representation surpasses the photographic approach.

Apprenticeships

For many years, there has been an increased demand in the possibilities of taking lessons at my studio.
After some planning and consultation, we have decided to offer private lessons on a limited scale.

This with the intention of guiding guest students individually in their personal objectives, with strong regard to techniques and other assets.
An individual work schedule can be worked out, with a focus on the practical side of things.
Various techniques and materials will be highlighted with a view to smooth, professional progression.

For more information regarding lessons, please contact us via email or phone.
