STILL LIFE

Craftsmanship and material representation. These two pillars form the base for Eric De Vree’s still life paintings. A great respect for the old masters of painting and an eye for the beauty of everyday objects are reflected in Eric’s contemporary way of working.

‘Still life portraits’ are a second aspect.
De Vree started this innovative way of portraying by immortalizing a person’s characterizing objects on canvas.
As an example, he portrayed his deceased grandfather, Rik, by painting his personal toolbox under the resulting artwork’s name 'Extinguished'.

Over a relatively short time, Eric has become one of the most important representatives of Contemporary Realism.
